The Allegro at Harbour Island Adding Assisted Living

The Allegro at Harbour Island

St. Augustine, Fla., January 22, 2008 — Hallmark Senior Housing, the developer of The Allegro at Harbour Island, 110 Plantation Island Drive South, plans to add assisted living to its broad range of services for seniors.

The Allegro at Harbour Island has catered to St. Augustine seniors for more than eight years with fabulous independent living retirement apartments. The Allegro is excited to announce the addition of assisted living services to its already extensive array of amenities.

“The 24 licensed assisted living apartments will look identical to The Allegro independent living units. The difference resides in the level of care residents receive,” says Veronica Catoe, Community Director.

Assisted living services are designed for seniors who need help with their activities of daily living but want to maintain as much independence as possible. Tailored to meet the individual’s needs, these services may include assistance with medication, among other personal care services.

“Our goal is to be able to help more families.” Catoe says. “Being licensed for assisted living means we have 24-hour care and a licensed nurse on staff.”

Independent, and very soon assisted living, residents of The Allegro at Harbour Island enjoy apartments designed with seniors in mind; beautiful views, a sense of security, exciting events and a community filled with friends.

With the expanded service levels that will be available, residents can begin their Allegro lifestyle in an independent living apartment and move into assisted living if and when the need arises. “There is a comfort for both our residents and their adult children knowing that, as our residents come to need more care, we are able to provide the appropriate level of service,” Catoe says.
