Allegro Hosts Fundraiser For The National Council On Aging

June 15, 2009 — St. Augustine, FL — The Allegro at Harbour Island hosted an event dedicated to raising funds to benefit The National Council on Aging (NCOA). A performance of Secrets of the Mayberry Momma was presented to a crowd of nearly 100 guests and Allegro residents. Jewell M. Kutzer brought her Mayberry Momma character to the stage sharing stories of behind the scenes ‘secrets’ and facts about the popular Mayberry town of the Andy Griffith Show.

Ms. Kutzer donated her time and talents to entertain the guests. The Allegro offered the use of the stage in their main dining room for the performance and served root beer floats and bread pudding as part of the nostalgic Sunday afternoon event.

All proceeds were donated to the National Council on Aging to benefit the expansion planned for their Adult Daycare Center. The project will increase the ability of NCOA to deliver these much-needed services to the senior residents of St. John’s County. NCOA works with thousands of organizations across the country to help seniors live independently, find jobs and benefits, improve their health, and remain active in their communities. The event resulted in a donation of over $1,000 toward the Adult Daycare Center expansion.
