The Allegro's Gourmet Gala To Benefit The Shepherd Center

August 26, 2009 — Tarpon Springs, FL — The Allegro at East Lake will be hosting its second annual Gourmet Gala on August 26th from 5pm – 7pm. Guests will enjoy Chef Peter Cipolla’s delectable hors d’oeuvres and desserts, while being entertained by the musical standards of the 30s, 40s, and 50s. A gourmet wine tasting, provided courtesy of PRP Wine International will round out the festivities. Admission is free to the public, but the evening includes a raffle to benefit the Shepherd Center in Tarpon Springs.

The Shepherd Center is an organization that supports needy families, elderly and homeless. They operate a food pantry which provides free supplemental groceries to 600 needy families and a community kitchen that provides 5100 free meals a month. The Shepherd Center also operates Clothes Tree, where free clothing, children’s toys, books, and miscellaneous household items are available. Last year, their Adopt a Family at Christmas program helped over 174 families and 446 children.
