The Allegro At Helmwood Hosts 1st Annual Winter
Soup Cook-Off Benefiting Toys For Tots

November 20, 2009 — Elizabethtown, KY — The Allegro at Helmwood is pleased to announce that it will be hosting its first annual Winter Soup Cook Off Contest on November 20th from 4-6pm. This exciting event will have teams competing to have their soup recipe chosen as the best winter soup by a panel of judges. The grand prize winner of the contest will have their soup become the signature recipe on the Allegro’s daily menu.

Judges of the contest will be Lt. Colonel Waddell from Fort Knox, An Army Chef, Bill Evans, owner of Quicksie Radio, Carol Brown from Insight Media, and a member of the Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce. Teams of 1-4 people will be bringing their pre-prepared dishes to the event and present them to the judges. The winner will be named the day of the event.

To become a contestant, please call Katrina, Sales and Marketing Director of the Allegro, at 270-765-4414. There will be a $10 registration fee for each team. You must register by November 16th to participate. Each team will have their recipe featured in a cookbook that can be ordered the day of the event.

Proceeds will be donated to Toys for Tots. This event is free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring toys to donate for Toys for Tots.
